How Custom Runner and Rug Projects Work
Tell us about the stairs or room you want to change. For a complete runner or rug, we bring carpet samples and measure at home. Then we agree on the material, size, work and quote before making it.
1. Choose your project and carpet source
Tell us whether you want a custom stair runner, hallway runner, custom area rug or carpet binding. You can choose carpet with us or ask about material you already have.
2. Compare samples or review your carpet, then measure
For a complete runner or rug, we bring physical sample books and measure at home. See the sample books we bring. If you'd like to know what to expect, read Prepare for your in-home appointment. You don't need to choose an exact sample or measure the space before requesting a visit.
If you are supplying carpet, we review its material, quantity, construction and dimensions against the intended use before accepting it for the project. 3. Agree on the size, edge finish and work
Before cutting, we agree on the finished size, edge finish, work included and quote for your job.
4. Make and bind the runner or rug
We make the runner or rug to the agreed size and bind its exposed edges where the project calls for it. DMV Stair Runners performs its own binding.
5. Install or arrange the handoff
Projects that require installation continue through that step. Finished rugs and binding work follow the agreed handoff. A binding drop-off in Temple Hills can be arranged; confirm the arrangements before bringing carpet in.
